When completing wells with low pressure
gravel packing methods, Johnson Super
Weld TM screens represent the quality standard. Two
general types are available :
SUPER WELD ®
SCREENS
These screens use Vee-Wire ®
construction with narrow face-width wires to create a high percentage of flow area. Standard wire width is 2.29
mm. For even greater open area, 1.52 mm or 1.19 mm can be used.
SUPER WELD HT
®
SCREENS
When bottom hole temperatures exceed 120 0
C, differential expansion between the pipe base and screen jacket may result in loss of sand
control. In these cases, a Super WELD HT screen should be used. This patented product
has an expansion ring on one end to maintain product integrity under high
temperature conditions.
HORIZONTAL WELL SCREENS:
Downhole sand control screen must retain
formation sand and allow easy passage
of production fluids and drill-in solids. These critical functions can now
be performed
with unequaled efficiency by superflo TM
- the highest permeability screen currently
available on the market.

PREPACKED SCREENS::
Conventional gravel packing of horizontal well is not
feasible. In these cases, prepacked screens are commonly used. At
Johnson we have variety of prepacked designs to meet these special
conditions. Thinpack & Ultrapack screens are most commonly used
prepack screens.
Ultra Pack
Screen ::
Johnson Ultra Pack
Screen uses an outer perforated pipe over a wire wrap screen on a base
pipe. These screens are suitable for open hole completions for
effective sand control, without the expense & time involved in
placing a gravel pack. Its baked-resin sand construction has a large
open area to permit maximum fluid low with a minimum pressure drop.
Ultra pack are also widely used in difficult
cased-hole completions when you need extra protection against damaged to
the screen surface.
Thin Pack
Screen ::
Johnson Thin Pack
Screen consist of two concentric V-Wire screens with a 6 mm thick
integral gravel packed in between. These screens are suitable for highly
deviated & horizontal well , either cased or open hole completions
to 1800 meters long. Thin pack are also widely used at the top of high
pressure gravel pack completions and for workovers where the OD/ID ratio
is critical.
